  • For cleansing the face cucumber juice can be mixed with milk and used for cleansing the face.

  • Application of buttermilk on skin for 15 minutes clears oils from the skin but dies not make the skin dry.
  • A smashed banana can be applied on face for 20 minutes. This makes the skin supple.
  • A paste of powder of sun dried orange peels in milk can be applied on face for 15 minutes and washed off. This acts as natural bleach.
  • Apple slices can be rubbed on oily face help in controlling oil on face.
  • Regular application of cauliflower juice or carrot juice is good for acne and pimples.
  • For smooth and soft skin half cup of honey can be added to bath water.
  • A paste of almonds and mint leaves in warm water can be applied all over the body and allowed to dry and then washed off using warm water.
  • A mixture of turmeric, lemon juice and cucumber juice can be applied on dark spots on skin.

How to get clear skin?

There are many ways to avoid flare ups. Avoiding kitchens of restaurants or fast foods and subway tunnels is better in order to avoid greasy air. Pillow cases should be washed at least once in a week as they contain numerous bacteria which can cause acne flare ups.

Toner can be used only for oily skin and dry skin people should avoid astringent. The moisturizer also should be selected considering the skin type. Oily skin individuals should use oil free moisturizers and dry skin people should use oil based moisturizers.

For oily skin lemon juice can be applied on the face it dries out the oily skin and prevents breakouts. A paste of baking soda and water also causes removal of excess oil, dries the skin and prevents breakouts. The skin care products should be oil free as they do not cause blocking the pores and prevent acne formation.

Regular exfoliation is good for skin as it stimulates the skin. A mud mask once a week is relaxing and good for skin.

In case of wearing make ups the cover up or foundation should be applied using fresh and clean applicator every time. The applicators contain plenty of bacteria and they can cause acne. The foundation or cover up can be applied with the finger. The cosmetic products should be fresh and old products should be discarded regularly.

Deep cleansing mask regularly as it takes out the impurities from the skin and prevent breakouts.

Balanced food gives the body all the essential nutrients including vitamins and minerals. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables especially green leafy vegetables are good for health of skin as well as health in general. Drinking lots of water is good as it carries away toxic metabolic products and prevents acne formation. Physical exercise in the form of dancing, running, aerobics and sports is good as it cause sweating and sweating causes clearing or pores and makes the complexion clear. The sweaty cloths should be changed immediately and the sweat should be wiped with a clean towel. Thus balanced food, plenty of water and regular physical exercise are must for healthy and clear skin.

Facts You Should Know About Oily Skin

It is important to know the reason behind oily skin. Excessive production of sebum causes oily skin. This causes clogging of pores and accumulation of dead cells which causes acne or pimples formation.

Therefore the fact behind oily skin care is to remove surplus sebum. However, the cleansing should not remove all the oil. Normally, cleansing of the oily skin should be carried out at least twice a day and in hot and humid conditions it should be even more frequent. However the cleansing should not be too frequent as it can make the skin too dry and as a rebound action the skin produces more oil. The cleanser to be used should contain salicylic acid as it slows down the production of sebum.

Generally, the products for oily skin are oil free. However one should check for the contents of the product. For minimally oily skin the products labeled as “suitable for all skin types” can be used but for extremely oily skin the products especially for oily skin should be used. The toners for oily skin are alcohol based however; toner should not be excessively used as it can harm the skin.

Moisturizers for oily skin may or may not be required. For too much oily skin moisturizer may not be required. If moisturizer has to be used then it should be oil free, lipid free and wax free. Clay mask can be used once in a week.

Individuals of oily skin should avoid used of creams, lotions and ointments in general. The skin care and beauty products if at all they are to be used they should be oil free.

Oily, greasy and fried foods like French fries should be avoided. Cheese containing foods like pizzas and fast foods also should be avoided by individuals of oily skin. Individuals having oily skin should avoid walking through restaurant and fast food kitchens and dirty subways.

A well balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, regular physical exercise, control over sun exposure and learning stress relaxation are good for health of skin in general.

Suitable products can be chosen only after trying a few. Over the counter vitamin A products are useful for oily skin care. Prescription products containing sulfur and retinoid are also available. If the oiliness can not be controlled after using these products then consulting a dermatologist is better.
