Beauty and aging

Growing old is something that everybody experiences. It affects some of us more than other, and it effects us all in different ways. For some people it is just a minor inconvenience, another part of life. For others, it causes them a lot of panic and grief. One of the most devastating effects of aging is your beauty fading. For some people beauty is the quality they are most proud of, and it is heart breaking for them to let go of it.
It is a long change to get used to. Unlike some other changes, beauty is one that happens gradually over a long period of time. Every day you can see a different blemish. It is hard looking in the mirror everyday and notice a new wrinkle or mark that wasn’t there yesterday. It often reminds people of their mortality and how they won’t live forever. It is a long and hard path before people learn how to cope with it.
One of the ways for people to learn to accept it is to realize that it happens to everybody. A major step in getting past it is to stop comparing your beauty to somebody that is ten, twenty, or even thirty years younger than you. Instead of that, you should consider what I like to call your age beauty. Your age beauty is your beauty factoring in your age. That way instead of comparing yourself to when you were young, you will look at yourself like someone that is older. Age beauty is a mentality that can really help some vain people feel better about them.
The one thing that is better than that is to understand that you are beautiful for who you are. To someone that loves you, you are the most beautiful person in the world. Losing your beauty can provide you with a very important lesson on changing people on their character, not their looks. Sorry for being cliché, but basically you don’t judge a book by its cover.
Once you have accepted that your beauty has faded, you can start appreciating other things in life. You can start being thankful for all the good things that happened in your life. Accepting how you age will make you a happier person. Some people are fighting for their lives against the likes of illness and cancer and you are just dealing with not being as gorgeous. You need to think of it like that to be more thankful for what you have.
As you age you go through changes and fading beauty is just another one of them. In the end all of these changes aren’t really affecting the big picture and they will make you a better person for it. Life is all about accepting things that you can’t change, and it is your responsibility to make the best out of the situation. Your life is in your own hands; you shape your own life, not something as petty as looks.

Simple Ways to Resist Aging

By cutting down or avoiding the following, you can
help your skin to look younger a lot longer.

The Sun
It’s the number one reason why our skin ages.Wear
sunscreen at all times, and don’t forget protective
clothing. Don’t forget that the scalp also needs to be
protected from the sun.

Smoking
Early wrinkling occurs due to reduced levels of the
oxygen needed to keep skin healthy. Smoking is the
prime source of oxygen deprivation. Drinking lots
of water will help counteract this.

Alcohol
In excess, alcohol dehydrates the body and robs it of
vitamins that keep skin both healthy and glowing.
Never have an alcoholic drink without a chaser of ice
water. It will detoxify the body and moderate the
amount of alcohol intake.

Improper Nutrition
The modern-day use of convenience foods encourages
the formation of free radicals. These foods are
high in processed fats and oils. Protection of the skin
is possible by eating foods rich in vitamins A, C, and
E. Fresh fruits and vegetables are particularly good
for keeping the skin youthful. Supplementation may
be necessary if you’re not getting these nutrients in
your foods.

Stress
Stress causes the skin to become sensitive and prone
to breakouts. Regular exercise and meditation will
help diffuse its effects.
