After menopause the amount of estrogen produced by a woman slows down dramatically. As a result changes occur in the skin, which is highly sensitive to estrogen. Older people have to deal with the normal aging process of the skin. In aged women and men, the skin dries and thins because the sebaceous glands slow down and even gathers pace. The elastin fibers lose their structure, the dermis becomes less resilient, and the skin becomes wrinkled and sags. It is never too late to take care of the skin, no matter of what age group you belong to.
