Oily skin can result in clogging of pores and can cause breakouts. Oily face should be washed twice a day in the morning and in the evening using a mild cleanser. Oily people should minimize sun exposure as it causes increased oil production. Such people also reduce intake of oils and fats in their diet. The moisturizer to be used should not be oil based.

For skin having few and sporadic pimples proper cleaning of face is sufficient. Individuals of light pimple skin should not use soap; they should use cleanser to clean the face. Exfoliant can also be used regularly for the removal of dead skin. After the cleansing procedure a light moisturizer should be applied to hydrate the skin. For frequent and heavy breakouts doctor’s advice is the best. Sunscreen of SPF 15 or more should be used to prevent darkening of blemishes. Picking or popping of pimples should not be done.

Apart from all these skin problems dark circles is also a most common skin problem. The reasons for this are ageing and lack of sleep. Therefore a sleep of eight or more hours is essential to avoid dark circles. Moisturizer containing anti-oxidant should be applied to the area under the eyes. Slices of dry potato or cucumber can be placed on eyes for about ten minutes to decrease the puffiness.

Apart from the skin care routines and treatments for common skin problems diet is very important factor for clear and beautiful skin. A well balanced diet is very important. Diet should be rich in fruits and vegetables especially green leafy vegetables. Along with diet drinking plenty of water is also essential for clear and beautiful skin. It helps in carrying away the metabolic waste products and thus helps in reducing the skin problems. Regular physical exercise is also very important for healthy skin and for overall good health in general. Exercise improves the blood flow and thus enhances nutrient supply to the skin.

Thus balanced diet, plenty water, physical exercise and skin care routine are helpful in keeping away the common skin problems.
